Bless You

One of my office mates sneezes a lot.  It has become an endless source of entertainment for them when I say “bless you.”  I get that it must seem odd for them, but I cannot figure out why it is so funny.  My only guess is that it sounds like something in Korean or that they think it means something different.

I tried to make myself stop saying it, but I can’t seem to quit.  Every one of them sneezes, I sound off like clockwork, and they fall apart.  I tried to explain the origin of the phrase today, but that made it even funnier.  “You no can die of sneezy.”  Yeah, I know…

Until next time.
