Sometimes I Forget

Sometimes I forget how much bigger I am than the average Korean.  At 6’2″ with a large frame, I’m a big guy in the US, but I certainly don’t stand out.  Korea is another story – I stand out like a sore thumb.  Whenever people avoid me on the street or give me a wide berth in hallways or on the subway, it takes me a second to remember what I look like to them.  I’ve never thought of myself as intimidating or scary, so it seems odd that some Koreans do.

This post, sent to me by my friend Rowell, was another funny reminder of the way Koreans see me:

Until next time.

Looks to me like you’re a little less bulky than when I last saw you!
