Sometimes I forget how much bigger I am than the average Korean. At 6’2″ with a large frame, I’m a big guy in the US, but I certainly don’t stand out. Korea is another story – I stand out like a sore thumb. Whenever people avoid me on the street or give me a wide berth in hallways or on the subway, it takes me a second to remember what I look like to them. I’ve never thought of myself as intimidating or scary, so it seems odd that some Koreans do.
