Instead of teaching my after-school class yesterday, I was asked to monitor study hall. All high school students have mid-term exams this week, so they were given an hour after school to study. As the study time was ending, I noticed that one of my student’s desks looked odd.
This girl is one of my favorite students. On top of having a sweet disposition, you can see that she isn’t afraid of a little studying. I’m starting to see why her English is improving by leaps and bounds. According to the other teachers, she is one of the few students here who is a shoe-in for some of the top universities in Korea. I counted 28 pens and pencils, five erasers and two rulers lined up on her desk. Must be a Girl Scout.
Until next time.
